About Me
I started my training as a Counsellor whilst studying for my Degree at Leeds University and completed Levels 1 and 2 in Counselling skills at Leeds Thomas Danby college. When I returned to Preston I enrolled on the Graduate Diploma Course in Professional Counselling at The University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN) and was awarded a distinction.I am currently working as a Counsellor at Blackpool Victoria Hospital as part of the Occupational Health team. For the last 2 year I have also worked at the Urban Exchange in Preston, offering counselling to 11-25 year olds, whilst also expanding my work into private practice in Preston and Blackpool.
I work as a Person-Centred Counsellor and try to offer the best possible space for each individual to explore what they need. I am a fully qualified counsellor and am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapy (BACP)
I have worked with both young people and adults. I always strive to offer the best possible environment for each individual and put a lot of effort into improving my work as a Counsellor. I attend Supervision once a month which is used to explore, support and improve my work as a Counsellor. I also intend to continue my training through a number of different courses throughout the year, again to help offer the best I can for each client.
I follow the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. In short, this means that you can trust that the service I provide will be of a good standard and in line with my professional body. More information regarding BACP Ethical Framework here
